| Page 180 April 2, 1909 "The common Council of the Town of Sherwood met in regular monthly session and was called to order by Prest.A.W.Hall. Roll call showed all present excepting Councilman Colfelt, Roellick, and Edwards. Treas. McConnel and vacancy in marshals office. There not being a quorum present, a motion was taked to adjourn until Tuesday evening April 6th, 1909 for the purpose of transacting any and all business coming before the meeting. "The meeting being called pursuant to a letter received from the State Board of Health relative to the Hillmans small-pox case, it was deemed advisable to enforce a strict quarenteen on the premises, and in order that this end might be carried out, a motion was made to appoint Mr. Biggs as quarenteen officer until such a time as it was advisable to lift said quarenteen. The Recorder was instructed to see Me.Biggs and ascertain what the [sic.] would charge for the work, and if not out of reason to employ him."

| Page 186 Sep. 3, 1909 Cofelt and Weston, same routine, Smock voting No. "Through J.C.Smock as representative, the Sherwood Mutual Telephone Co. made application for a 10 year lease to erect a small building on the Town lot for a telephone office. Upon motion the council moved to grant the lease upon a yearly rental of $6.00. Or in other words the Telephone Co. pay the town of Sherwood rent to the amount of .50c per month, and at the experation of the 10 years the Telephone Co. have the priveliege to move their building off the town property."
