Sherwood Oregon January 14th,1901.

Common Council of the Town of Sherwood met in Annual Session the new Officers were duly Sworn in and were called to order by Pres.Smock.

Roll call showed members present to be Pres.Smock, Councilmen Jos.Simon,J.M.[Sers?], J.E.Morback and H.[F?].Cash, Recorder Johnson, and L.S.McConnell Treasurer. Moved and Carried that Recorder Bond be accepted. On motion the Old Bond of Treasurer was accepted with the consent of his Bondsmen and that a note to that affect be made on Bond.

E.G.Hagey Nominated for Marshal and on vote of Council was unanimously elected Mr.Hagey not having time to get Bondsmen he was sworn in without Bonds till the next regular meeting.

Treasurer's report for 1900 read.and.on motion was adopted Recorder instructed to see Treasurer and get Warrants and file with Treasurer's report.

Recorder Haynes Report and Bill read and on motion were laid on the table till next meeting.

It was moved and carried that report and costs on Baker case be extended to next meeting.

Report of J.E.Young read and on motion was laid on table till next regular meeting.

Bills of Hall Bros. for Printing Election Tickets read and Bill of Jan.5th,1901 for $1.50 allowed and warrant ordered. drawn for that Amnt, and Bill of Jan.15th,1900 ordered laid on the table till next regular meeting

Requested that former Recorder make out.a new report. Marshal instructed to see to repairing cross walks.

On motion Meeting.adjourned till next regular meeting.

Common Council of the Town of Sherwood met in regular monthly session Roll Call showed all officers Present. Minutes of last meeting read.and.approved. Bond and Petition of George Parkinson for Saloon License read, and on motion to reject the Petition the vote stood.as follows: Serr no, Morback yes, Simon no, Cash yes, Smock yes. Motion Carried.

Bill of M.J.Haynes was read and ordered held over till next meeting.

Report of M.J.Haynes read and on motion was adopted.

Bill of E.G.Hagey read and on motion was allowed and warrant ordered drawn in favor of E.G.Hagey for that amount. Amt. of Bill $2.00

Bill of Hall Bros. for printing Ballots. Amt of Bill $1.00. Ordered Paid.

Bill of J.E.Young Recorders fees, Amt of Bill $7.75. Allowed and same to be endorsed on not held by Town against Mr.Young. Recorder to so instruct Mr.Young.

Bill of Election Officers for Jan.2nd,1900, Jan.18th,1900, and Jan 7th,1901. Amount of Bill $27.00. Ordered paid.

Bill of J.C.Smock for Mdse. Amt. .70cts. Ordered Paid.

Bill of Jurors on Baker Case Amt. $6.00. Ordered Paid.

Ordinance no. 40 regulating Elections and filling vacancies read for First time

and on motion the same was passed to its Second reading.

Ordinance no. 40 was accordingly read the second time and on motion was passed to its third reading.

Ordinance no.40 was read for third time and on motion was adopted unanimously.

Moved and Carried that Town Treasurer be instructed to return money deposited with him for License by George Parkinson.

On motion Bond of E.G.Hagey as Marshal was accepted.

Ordered that Treasurer be instructed to use money in his hands for Payment of Town warrants after the ninth.of Feb.1901.

On motion meeting adjourned.

Sherwood Oregon Mar.1st,1901.

The Common Council of the Town of Sherwood met in regular monthly session. The following Officers answered to Roll Call. J.C.Smock, J.M.Serr, Joseph Simon, and J.E.Morback. E.W.Johnson and Grover Hagey. absent: H.T.Cash.and L.S.McConnell. Minutes of last meeting read and approved.

Resignation of H.T.Cash.as Councilman read and on motion was accepted.

Mr.Joseph Cowman and Mr.J.V.Hall were placed in nomination to fill vacancy caused by resignation of Mr.Cash. ballot was taken and Mr.Cowman receiving the majority was declared elected.and was duly sworn in as Councilman.

Moved and Carried that M.J.Haynes Bill of recorder fees be allowed.and warrant ordered.drawn for same. Amt of Bill Fourteen and 60/100 dollars.

Witness Fees in Baker Case allowed the following: A.J.Hess, C.H.Delaney, J.V.Hall, Geo.Smelser, Wm.Wilson, Albert Beiland and H.L.Smock.ordered Paid. Amount of Bill Eleven and 50/100 Dollars.

Bill of E.G.Hagey for wood and crosswalk repairing allowed and ordered Paid. Amt of Bill Two and 10/100 Dollars.

Marshal instructed to use his judgement in regard to sidewalk crossings and repair them if necessary.

On motion meeting adjourned.

Sherwood Oregon April 5th,1901.

The Common Council of the Town of Sherwood met in regular monthly session. All Officers Present execpt E.G.Hagey, Marshal.

Minutes of last meeting read and approved.

Petition of Bicycle riders read and on motion resolutions were adopted giving permission at the corner of J.M.Haynes Lot thence to the corner of Johnsons Lot thence west to the corner of Wormelsdorf's thence down to the S.P. Depot, said resolution to be revoked by the Council should it be deemed necessary.

Bill of Geo.Seeney read.and on motion was ordered paid. Amount of Bill Eight and 90/100 dollars.

Bill of E.W.Johnson Recorder Fees read and ordered paid. Amt of Bill Two and 75/100.

Quarterly report of L.S.McConnell Treasurer read.and on motion was returned for correction.

There being no further business Council adjourned till next regular meeting.

Sherwood Ore.May 10,1901.

The Common Councel of the Town of Sherwood met in Extra Session at the call of the President. Roll call showed all officers present except L.S.McConnell, Treas. and E.G.Hagey Marshal.

Pres. Smock stated that the purpose for which the meeting was called was to take some action in regard to riding Bicycles on the Sidewalks. It was moved and seconded to revoke the resolution to allow Bicycle riding on the sidewalk and on vote being taken motion carried. Ordered that the Recorder be instructed to post notices warning Bicycle riders to keek [sic.] off the sidewalks.

It was moved and carried that the Town hire men and teams to repair the Streets and that the President be instructed to hire the necissary help and oversee the work Moved and carried that the President be appointed a committee of one to see Mr.Leo and get him to examine the pump in the Waterworks and get his opinion in regard to repairing the same.

Sherwood Ore. June 7,1901.

The Common Council of the Town of Sherwood met in regular session.

Roll call showed all Officers present except L.S.McConnell Treasurer.

Petition of Martin Gardner for Retail Liquor License read and on motion was rejected, vote being as follows on motion to reject. Serr, yes -- Simon, no -- Morback, yes -- Cowman yes. Motion carried.

Mr. Smock reported that Mr. Leo had examined the Pump in the waterworks and thought it would cost more to fix it than it was worth. Mr. Eyman offered to attach engine to hand Pump for use in pumping water into Tank and fix it in.good running order for $25.00 Pump to work to the satisfaction of Council, or Eyman to recieve [sic.] no pay, same to be complete in 30 days.

On motion Mr.Eyman's offer was accepted.

On motion the quarterly report of last quarter or L.S.McConnell Treasurer was accepted.

Ordered that Treasurer be instructed to return money now on deposit for License to Mr.Garner.

Moved and carried to adjourn subject to the call of the President.

Sherwood Ore.July 2,1901.

The Common Council of the Town of Sherwood met in Extra Session at the call of Pres.Smock. Roll call shwoed the following Officers present J.C.Smock Pres. J.E.Morback, J.M.Serr and Joseph Simon Councilmen and E.W.Johnson Recorder.

Pres. Smock stated that the purpose for which meeting was called was to pay Mr.Eyman for Repairs on Pump Mr.Eyman's Bill for $27.00 was read and the Council being satisfied with work done on Pump a motion was made to accept the repairs and that a warrant be drawn in favor of Mr.Eyman to the amt of his Bill. Motion carried.

Communications and quotations on Iron Pipe read and laid on table till regular meeting.

There being no further business before Council meeting adjourned till next regular meeting.

Sherwood Oregon July 5th, 1901.

The Common council of the Town of Sherwood met in regular Monthly session.

Roll call showed the following Officers present J.C.Smock, President, J.M.Serr, J.E.Morback, Jos. Simon.and J.E.Cowman, Councilmen. E.W.Johnson Recorder and L.S.McConnell Treasurer.

The minutes of last regular meeting and also of the called meeting of July 2nd read and approved.

Quarterly report of L.S.McConnell Treasurer for quarter ending June 30th,1901 read and accepted as read.

Bill of J.C.Smock for Street work and supplies read and a warrant ordered drawn to the amt of bill. Amt of Bill Five and 50/100.

Communications and prices on Iron pipeing taken up and discussed.

It was decided to try the wooden pipe and see if it would hold water.

Moved and carried that the President be appointed a committee of one to draw up a contract with Eyman for keeping the water works in repair and giving Eyman the use of the engine in water works for running his [emery?] wheel.

It was moved and carried that the keys to the department be turned over to the Recorder.

Meeting adjourned to meet again Thrusday evening July 11th,1901.

Sherwood Ore. Aug.9th,1901.

The Common Council of the Town of Sherwood met in Extra Session at the call of the President.

Officers present: J.C.Smock Pres., J.E.Morback, Joseph Simon and J.E.Cowman Councilmen and E.W.Johnson Recorder.

President Smock stated that the purpose for which the meeting was called was to take action on the agreement between the Town of Sherwood and H.H.Eyman in regard to Eyman keeping the Watertank filled with water for the privilege of using the Town Engine for running his Emery wheel and such other machinery as may be agreed on.

An outline of the contract being read and on Motion it was ordered that the contract be drawn up in proper form and submitted to Eyman for his signature.

Moved and carried that the President be appointed a committee of one to see how much lumber would be required to cover the Waterworks and to order enough to cover same.

Sherwood Ore.Dec.6th,1901.

The Common Council of the Town of Sherwood met in regular Monthly session and the following Officers responded to Roll Call. J.E.Morback, Joseph Simon and J.E.Coman Councilmen, and E.W.Johnson Recorder.

Owing to the absence of the President it was moved and carried to adjourn till next Friday night Dec. 13th, 1901.

Sherwood Ore.Dec.13th,1901

The Common Council of the Town of Sherwood met persuant to adjournment of Dec.6th.

Roll Call showed the following Officers present J.C.Smock Pres., J.E.Morback, Joseph Simon and J.E.Cowman, Councilmen, and E.W.Johnson, Recorder.

Bill of McConnell & Hall to the amt of Two dollars and Five cents for Nails furnished the Town.allowed and ordered paid.

Bill of J.C.Smock to the amt of Sixteen dollars and Sixty five cts for lumber furnished the Town allowed and ordered paid.

Nominations for Judge of Election being in order and the following Nominations was made.

Marin Cook, L.S.McConnell and J.V.Hall, there being no further Nominations they were declared elected.

Nominations for Clerks of Election resulted in the following Nominations. E.W.Johnson & G.W.Saylor. There being no further nominations they were declared elected.

Moved and carried that the Recorder be instructed to embody in the regular notice of Election that a primary for the nomination of Officers is called to meet in Town hall Dec. 20th at 7oclockP.M.

There being no further business Council adjourned subject to call of the President.
